HELMET SAFETY

Mansfield Ski Club strongly recommends wearing helmets for skiing and riding.  Skiers and snowboarders are encouraged to educate themselves on the benefits and limitations of helmet usage.  The primary safety consideration, and obligation under the Alpine Responsibility code, is to ski and ride in a controlled and responsible manner.

While helmet use is mandatory at the club under certain circumstances - snowboard lessons - terrain park lessons - racing,  for example, we understand that it is still a matter of choice for many of our club members.  There is an excellent website that answers many of the most pertinent questions regarding helmet use.  Please take the time to visit this site when making your own personal decision - www.lidsonkids.org.
